dc.description.abstractOsteoporosis is the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time. Osteoporosis is a major and growing public health problem for older women and men in western society. Bone is the major reservoir for the calcium and phosphate and is in constant state of remodeling during stress, many factor effects the bone resorption. Understanding the physiology, pathophysiology and treatment of Osteoporosis will direct the patients about precautions to be taken, to select the correct treatment regimen and to improve the quality of life of the patients. The beneficial effects of treatments can be assessed by the outcome study using quality of life assessment tools.en_US
