dc.description.abstract | In orthodontics, the stability of the achieved result remains primary concern and debate. Usually, a retention phase is required after active orthodontic tooth movement to hold teeth in their esthetic and functional relation and to prevent them in returning to their former position. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to retain the teeth by appropriate appliance. Since each case is different, it requires a unique retentive protocol and appliance. The present article enlists various retention protocols among various clinical situations including orthognathic surgeries. | en_US |
